Inspiration

Motivated by existing social media platforms and a desire to promote sustainability, we developed a social media app with a focus on eco-friendly engagement.

What it does

Users create accounts, follow friends, and share eco-friendly photos. The app includes a streak feature to encourage daily posting of sustainable content.

How we built it

Built with Next.js for the front end, Pocketbase for the database, and other backend functionalities like authentication.

Challenges we ran into

Managing states posed challenges in an app with numerous states. Maintaining clarity and simplicity in such a dynamic environment required careful attention.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Proud of the feed feature, especially filtering posts from followed users. Crafting this functionality was a time-consuming yet rewarding process.

What we learned

Gained significant experience in React, particularly utilizing React Context to manage both user and post states effectively.

What's next for Sustainable-Network

Improving error and loading handling is a priority. Implementing features like form validation and a notification system are crucial for the app's growth.
