Sustainable Fashion aims to raise awareness about the Fast Fashion Industry. Fashion production makes up 10% of humanity’s carbon emissions, dries up water sources, and pollutes rivers and streams. The fashion industry is the second-largest consumer of water worldwide.
This is a huge problem that negatively impacts our environment and the people who work to produce the products, this is an issue we need to address. We wanted to target a wide range and variety of customers so that people around the world can realize how severely we are impacting the environment in just the fashion industry.
Our app is interactive and engages users in many ways. Sustainable Fashion gives the user information to educate themselves on the environmental effects keeping up with the trends has. It asks the user to reflect on the clothes they buy and asks themselves if it is ethically sourced or not. It also has a calculator tool. For example, it can calculate the number of resources used on producing just one single shirt. It also provides resources so customers can buy clothes from ethically sourced brands instead.
After seeing and using this app, we hope that this helps to make an impact on people to put in the effort to find out how their clothing is made and choose a sustainable alternative.
