Inspiration

Between 1990 and 2016, the world lost 1.3 million square kilometers of forest. It is estimated that 1.6 billion people worldwide rely on forests for their livelihoods and eighty percent of Earth’s land animals and plants live in forests. But deforestation makes all the problems like climate change, greenhouse gas emission more devastating every day. Different incidents like the amazon rainforest fire 2019, Australian bush fire 2020, and other wildfires cause significant suffering to mankind. And yearly 30,000 species are being extinct . Already these problem goes out of bound. If that problem is not checked now it will be a great threat to our own existence. To make a better world for our future generation it is high time to check these problem and find a way to solve this.

What it does

It will identify illegal wood logging animal hunting in real-time in the forest. Furthermore, it will collect humidity data of air and soil to monitor health of the forest. It will also identify any estimation of wildfire. It will store the sound data of animals presence. From that it will analyze the sound data to conserve different extinct animals from forests.

How we will build it

We will be making a device which will be placed in the forest. It will be able to catch sounds and classify them. From these sounds, we will classify man-made artificial sounds from environmental sounds and detect gunshots or saw machine sounds, and send a signal to the forestry dept to catch the intruder or any illegal activities. There will be humidity sensors that can collect data on air and soil humidity. From that data, we can estimate wildfire danger, drought prediction and also can monitor the health of forests. There will be Lora directional antenna to transmit the signal and the cloud will be used to store the data for further analysis to see if any animal is going extinct or to monitor wildlife in forests.
