Inspiration

We are all passionate towards climate change awareness and sustainability. We wanted to create a project that would address this issue.

What it does

This webpage contains several pages that offer information about different aspects of this issue. We have a trivia and resource section that inform the audience more about the prominence of environmental awareness, especially in the years to come. We also have a maps page to direct users to different recycling centers.

How we built it

We built this with html, css, and javascript.

Challenges we ran into

We had difficulties formatting the website and quiz because we were not familiar with these concepts. However, through practice and online research, we were able to teach ourselves more about these languages and their applications. Also, some of us who were previously not fluent in javascript learned some concepts after struggling with grasping the language.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of how our website turned out. We are also proud of being able to use concepts in html and css that we were previously unfamiliar with. We learned quite a bit that we did not know before. We are also proud of how much we learned from this experience.

What we learned

Many of us learned more about the applications of coding and were able to use the concepts we’ve learned in class in a real-time environment. We also learned how to work with team especially with dividing and completing tasks. Additionally, we gained the skills to work well under pressure and with limited time.

What's next for Sustainability

We are planning to attend more hackathons in the future as a team and develop more projects about sustainability and other global concerns. Also, some of us are planning to participate in environmental science internships over the summer and create a fundraiser for the Sierra Leone School Green Club, a nonprofit dedicated to environmental awareness in Sierra Leone.
