Inspiration

The best way to recommend something is to address it at the time of action. Hence an overlay recommendation system for android which provides real-time recommendations during booking services, food ordering etc.

What it does

An overlay recommendation system that provides greener alternatives for daily tasks like rides etc.

How we built it

Using flutter and kotlin with ML model trained in python. Flutter for basic UI, kotlin for native android functionalities of overlay and context extraction. Python for ML model training.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The app successfully provides low latency , purely local recommendations without any internet usage or data usage for backend.

What we learned

A great deal of native android and its widespread functionalities. Also user behavior can be influenced through many small technical nudges that can help to take greener alternatives that otherwise would be ignored generally or would not be known.

What's next for Greenlens

Expanding it to for other apps (it only works for a single app for now for demo purposes) Using better trained models and algos for sustainability calculations.
