Inspiration In crisis zones like Palestine, medical systems are overwhelmed. We built Survival Signal to give people a voice through AI when doctors are unreachable, ensuring no critical symptom goes unnoticed. What it does An AI-driven triage system that analyzes subjective patient symptoms to prioritize emergency cases. It maps human feelings to medical urgency, helping hospitals manage resources during disasters. How we built it We developed a Machine Learning classification model and a lightweight interface designed for low-bandwidth environments, ensuring functionality even with unstable infrastructure. Challenges we ran into The biggest hurdle was mapping vague, non-medical descriptions into accurate urgency levels and ensuring the system stays resilient during severe connectivity delays. Accomplishments that we're proud of We created a functional prototype that bridges the gap between patient self-assessment and hospital prioritization under extreme stress conditions. What we learned We realized the true meaning of Health Resilience: AI isn't just about tech; it’s a lifeline when traditional communication between patients and doctors breaks down. What's next for SURVIVAL_SIGNAL Refining the AI for local dialects, integrating real-time hospital data, and partnering with NGOs to deploy the tool in active crisis zones via the MEDAIGENCY network.
