Inspiration
Growing up with family and friends working in remote African countries, and experiencing in first hand how disease outbreaks can impact people's lives, it was always an ambition to be able to do something about it and that's why a year ago I started developing Survenus.
What it does
Survenus is a platform that aggregates all the information about disease outbreaks, so that organisations can stay up to date with the latest developments. On top of that it uses forecast algorithms to predict their the evolution.
How I built it
Survenus was built using standard web technologies and using proprietary machine learning algorithms.
Challenges I ran into
95% of the job, and the reason why Survenus is so important and has so much potential, is the fact that outbreak data sources are not standardized, are difficult to find and the information they provide is really scarce and many times incomplete.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The first version of the platform has already provided information to hundreds of people.
What I learned
When I started working on Survenus a while back, I could never predict how important it could be.
What's next for Survenus
Grow the team and start the first pilots with organisations.
