Surrounded (All I Know)

Inspiration

The emotional cycle of drowning—fighting, giving up, resurfacing, and slipping under again. The piece explores how survival can feel like confusion, surrender, and brief sparks of courage happening all at once.

What it does

It follows one man moving through water, shadow, and rising light as he struggles between escape and surrender. The music and visuals trace his loop of effort, collapse, and uncertain resurgence.

How we built it

I composed the song using Tunee, created the visual sequences with Midjourney, Hailuo, and Kling, and edited everything into a cohesive narrative with Filmora.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing abstraction with clarity, shaping a readable emotional arc without dialogue, and managing pacing so the sinking–resurfacing loop felt intentional instead of chaotic.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Building a unified emotional experience where sound and image express the same internal tension. The final cut captures a feeling that’s difficult to put into words but immediately recognizable.

What we learned

That small shifts in rhythm, light, and pacing can ground an abstract narrative. And that leaving the ending unresolved can feel more honest than forcing a clean escape.

What's next for Surrounded (All I Know)

A formal release of the track, followed by additional original songs that expand on the same themes of collapse, resurfacing, and the quiet struggle to keep going.
