Surjo grew from a few practical frustrations faced by students and early-career learners in Bangladesh:
- Frequent load-shedding and intermittent connectivity make long, online study sessions unreliable; learners need plans that are offline-friendly and schedule-aware.
- Cultural rhythms (Ramadan, family obligations, prayer times) require planners that respect and adapt to local daily cycles rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all schedule.
- Many students struggle with consistency: big goals feel overwhelming, so breaking work into micro-tasks, short daily wins, and a lightweight streak system helps build momentum.
- Language matters: mixed Bangla–English instruction and Bangla-only responses for Bengali input makes guidance more usable and human for local users.
Surjo is an attempt to combine these needs into a single, lightweight tool: AI-generated, culturally-aware plans + local memory + small gamified nudges to help people make steady progress in real-world constraints.
