About the project This project was inspired by the idea of a touchless surgical workflow, where patient data, live camera feeds, simulation review, and recordings can all be managed in one place. I wanted to explore what a more modern operating-room dashboard could look like, especially with gesture-based and voice-assisted controls.
I have limited experience building something this advanced, so I leaned heavily on AI to help me plan features, structure the code, debug issues, and connect the frontend and backend pieces together. The project was built with a Go backend and a React frontend, along with browser tools for webcam access, recording, playback, gesture tracking, and voice navigation.
One of the biggest challenges was getting all the moving parts to work together, especially cameras, recording, and gesture control. I learned a lot about how browser media APIs behave in real projects, how to organize a larger app into separate workflow pages, and how AI can be a powerful tool for building something beyond my current experience level.
