Inspiration

The desire to become a better surfer

What it does

We built a wearable learning tool to teach beginner surfers how to catch waves.

How I built it

LinkIt One, accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, GPS, temperature sensor, vibrator/buzzer, LCD.

We have sensors in the front of the board that measure paddle speed, surfboard angle, temperature of water, and GPS. The sensors communicate with 1) the LCD display in the front of the board to indicate surf conditions, and 2) the buzzer attached to the leash to tell surfers when to stand up.

Challenges I ran into

Gyroscope not working.
