Inspiration
Inspired by the downloads folder of one of our team members, we wanted to build something to help those who have disorganized Downloads folders.
What it does
Automatically organizes the Downloads folder based on the file's extension, by sorting each file into its respective folders (Photos, Documents, etc).
How we built it
Using Python.
Challenges we ran into
Fighting the urge to sleep. Connecting our GitHub repository to our local repo. Getting pip to work on Windows.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our teammate learned python in less than a day.
What we learned
Ask for help earlier.
What's next for SURF
Extensibility, configuration file, better interface, ability to sort by multiple rules.
