Why this project?
We aim to make fuel analysis more accessible and impactful.
What it does
The system processes parsed data from five comprehensive datasets encompassing all cars manufactured between 2021 and 2025. This data is then integrated into our database and seamlessly connected to the front-end interface. This platform provides users with a clear and intuitive presentation of the information, ensuring greater accessibility and ease of understanding.
How we built it
Leveraging React Native for the front end, MongoDB for the backend, and incorporating thoughtful design preparation with Figma, we developed a minimalistic, user-friendly, and highly informative mobile app.
Challenges we ran into
One of our biggest challenges was parsing the massive volume of data provided, which initially felt overwhelming. However, by leveraging our expertise in Excel, we efficiently organized and transformed the data, enabling us to create our own dataset in record time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We take immense pride in our application's UI/UX design, which is thoughtfully crafted to effectively communicate detailed fuel analysis of Toyota vehicles, tailored specifically for Toyota employees.
What we learned
We discovered just how crucial and imperative the brainstorming phase is for the success of any product. By dedicating time to carefully outline and define exactly what we needed for our application, we created a clear roadmap for development. This not only provided us with a solid foundation but also allowed us to systematically check off tasks as we progressed. Having this structured approach kept us organized, focused, and aligned with our goals, ensuring that every team member stayed on track and contributed effectively to the completion of the project.
What's next for SupraHotFire
While passive fuel analysis is a step in the right direction, we believe the next leap forward lies in real-time analysis. By leveraging geometric data and variable inputs from our dataset, we derived the equations necessary to calculate fuel savings dynamically. Our vision is to integrate this functionality into a vehicle's dashboard, providing real-time recommendations to drivers, such as adjusting throttle power, to optimize fuel efficiency. With additional time and resources, we would have loved to fully implement this feature, showcasing our product's scalability and transformative potential.
