Worst-Case: In sechs Monaten ist die Kunstszene nicht mehr existent

Wir alle leben gerade mit mehr oder weniger großen Einschränkungen. Während viele von uns mit der Einschränkung von sozialen Kontakten und Bewegungsfreiheit kämpfen, geht es für viele Künstler:innen bereits jetzt um ihre Existenz.

Weil Künstler:innen keine schlagkräftige Lobby haben, aber einen existenziellen Beitrag zum Leben aller leisten, wollen wir hier eine Brücke bauen. Eine Plattform, auf der sie die Möglichkeit haben, ihre Kunst zu teilen und gleichzeitig dafür etwas zurück bekommen.

Das Problem

Lokale Künstler haben aktuell besonders zu kämpfen. Auftritte wurden abgesagt, die Einnahmequellen versiegen. Menschen sind in Quarantäne, sind einsam und haben keinen Zugang zu kulturellen Veranstaltungen. Künstler wissen nicht, wo und wie sie streamen können und wie sie die Menschen am besten erreichen.

Was uns wichtig war

☛ Kunst sollte auch als Stream nicht weniger Wert sein. Eine Paywall ist für uns trotzdem nicht die Lösung. Wir haben uns für eine Supportmöglichkeit auf Spendenbasis entschieden.
☛ Kunst ist vielfältig und reicht vom Musiker bis zum Zauberkünstler. Dieser Vielfalt möchten wir eine Bühne geben.
☛ Algorithmen sollten nicht entscheiden können, ob Kunst relevant ist. Eine unabhängige Plattform ist für uns die solidarischste Form.
☛ Soziale Verbundenheit ist in Zeiten von physischer Trennung besonders wichtig.

STREAMSHIFT ▷ ist die Lösung

STREAMSHIFT bietet lokalen Künstler:innen die Möglichkeit, sich live und digital mit ihrem Publikum zu verbinden, unabhängig von der Streaming Plattform. Gesammelt bieten wir den Zuschauer:innen von ihrem Zuhause aus eine Anlaufstelle für alle vergangenen, aktuellen und zukünftigen kulturellen Livestreams. Dabei erhalten die Künstler:innen direkt die Chance, von ihrem Publikum unterstützt zu werden, und können auf diese Weise das kulturelle Angebot langfristig sicherstellen. Auf der Plattform gibt es hierfür „Donate“ Buttons, die den Zahlungsvorgang erleichtern.

So einfach geht es

1) Künstler:innen starten einen Livestream auf Facebook, Youtube oder Twitch.
2) Künstler:innen erstellen ein Event auf STREAMSHIFT, betten den Livestream per URL-Eingabe ein und verknüpfen die gewünschte Zahlungsmethode.
3) Fertig!

STREAMSHIFT richtet sich an alle Künstler:innen, die ihre Kunst digital zur Verfügung stellen möchten. Von der Graffiti-Künstlerin über den Comic­zeichner bis hin zu DJane und Musiker. Das Publikum umfasst all diejenigen, die von der Ausgangssperre und Social Distancing betroffen sind. Also uns alle.

• Integration vorhandener Streaming Plattformen: STREAMSHIFT bietet mit einer Vielzahl von Schnittstellen die Möglichkeit, bereits vorhandene Streams, beispielsweise von Facebook, Twitch oder Youtube, einfach und unkompliziert über APIs und iFrames einzubetten
• Benutzer- und Contentverwaltung: STREAMSHIFT erlaubt das Anlegen eigener User-Profile und die dynamische Verwaltung aller eingestellter Streams

The worst case: In six months the cultural scene will be dead.

We all live with more or less constrained life right now. But while many of us are struggling with social distancing and staying inside, many artists are in an existential crisis right now!

Artists have no powerful lobby to get support from but they all add an existential part to our daily life. This is why we want to build a bridge for them. A platform to join together with their audience, share their art and also get something back.

The current situation

Local artists are suffering right now, both financially and socially. Many are already filing for unemployment, others are simply paralysed regarding their situation: all events have been cancelled, all eventual income is suddenly gone. People are in quarantine, they're lonely and lack of cultural and social contact. A lot of artists don't know how and where to stream or how to (re)connect to their audience in the best way.

What really matters

☛ Artists and their work shouldn't lose any value when being watched digitally. A paywall is not our solution, though. We decided to work with a support service on the basis of donations because we believe in solidarity and fairness.
☛ Art is diverse. Art is created by both musician and magician, dancer and illustrator. We want to provide this diversity with the stage and the attention it deserves.
☛ Algorithms shouldn't decide over the relevance of certain artists and their work. We wanted a independent platform to maintain solidarity both offline and online.
☛ Virtual social connection matters the most in times where physical connection is not an option for most people out there.

STREAMSHIFT ▷ is your solution

STREAMSHIFT enables artists from all areas to (re)connect with their audience, independently from their original streaming service. We provide the audience with a full collection of live streams from the past, present and even planned streaming events in the future. All streams will be provided with a donation service that enables the audience to support our artists while watching the stream and therefore secure the cultural provision for the long term. The donation method is embedded in the platform to make it as easy as possible for the audience to support our artists.
