SupplySync

Inspiration

D2C brands today struggle with scattered shipping operations, from unpredictable delivery costs to inefficient packaging and high COD risk. We wanted to simplify logistics for small and mid-sized Shopify merchants by automating the entire post-order workflow using AI and clean UI automation.

What it does

SupplySync is an AI-powered web app that automates D2C supply chain workflows for Shopify and Shiprocket users.

It provides:

  • Dynamic delivery pricing that adjusts based on weight, urgency, and route.
  • Smart packaging recommendations to reduce costs and material waste.
  • COD risk scoring using historical patterns and customer behavior.
  • Automated replacement handling to manage failed or damaged orders efficiently.

All these features come together on a single operations dashboard backed by realistic mock APIs.

How we built it

We built SupplySync using Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript for the frontend, integrating mock APIs to simulate real-world Shopify and Shiprocket data.
The AI logic for pricing, packaging, and risk scoring was designed using rule-based models and heuristics, ensuring realistic yet explainable automation.
We deployed the web app on Vercel for a smooth, production-ready experience.

Challenges we ran into

  • Designing mock APIs that mimic real Shopify and Shiprocket data flow.
  • Balancing the dashboard UI between analytics depth and simplicity.
  • Creating believable AI-driven insights without external integrations.
  • Managing performance and state updates across multiple workflow components.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Built a functional end-to-end simulation of a D2C operations system.
  • Designed an intuitive, visually appealing dashboard experience.
  • Implemented modular AI logic for packaging, pricing, and COD scoring.
  • Delivered a live deployed prototype ready for real data integration.

What we learned

We learned how critical automation is in modern eCommerce logistics and how small optimizations in delivery and packaging can drastically reduce operational costs.
We also explored how AI-driven decision systems can make logistics tools smarter and more accessible for smaller D2C businesses.

What's next for SupplySync

  • Integrate with real Shopify and Shiprocket APIs.
  • Add AI-based demand forecasting and inventory optimization.
  • Build a mobile dashboard for merchants on the go.
  • Expand to include international shipping intelligence and analytics.
