Inspiration
The vulnerabilities in global supply chains, emphasizing the need for proactive risk management.
What it does
SupplySentinel is an AI-driven platform that monitors real-time events—such as extreme weather, political unrest, and labor strikes—to assess risks across fulfillment centers. It identifies affected SKUs and recommends optimized rerouting strategies, complete with cost impact analyses.
How we built it
Utilized FastAPI for the backend, NiceGUI for the frontend dashboard, integrated APIs like OpenWeatherMap and NewsAPI for data sourcing, and developed rule-based severity scoring for risk assessment.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating diverse data sources, ensuring real-time processing, accurately mapping inventory across centers, and designing an intuitive user interface.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully implemented autonomous monitoring, provided actionable insights, designed for scalability, and received positive feedback from pilot users.
What we learned
The importance of flexibility in dynamic supply chains, the value of user-centric design, and the necessity of continuous improvement in AI models and data sources.
What's next for SupplySentinel
Enhancing AI capabilities, expanding data sources, developing a mobile application, allowing user customization, and forming partnerships with logistics companies.
