🚀 Inspiration
Supply chains today are highly unpredictable due to factors like weather, traffic, and global events. We realized that while data exists, businesses still struggle to make timely decisions. This inspired us to build a system that not only detects disruptions but also tells users what to do next.
⸻
⚙️ What it does
SupplyAlert is an AI-powered platform that monitors supply chain disruptions in real time, analyzes their impact, and recommends the best course of action. With Navi, users can track shipments, simulate scenarios, and get clear, actionable decisions instantly.
⸻
🛠️ How we built it
We built the frontend using Next.js and Tailwind CSS for a clean UI. Navi is powered by Google Gemini, with a multi-agent system structured using LangChain. We integrated external APIs for weather, news, and maps, and deployed the app on Vercel.
⸻
⚡ Challenges we ran into • Integrating real-time data from multiple sources reliably • Designing accurate and meaningful simulations • Converting AI outputs into simple, actionable recommendations • Maintaining a clean UI while handling complex logic
⸻
🏆 Accomplishments that we’re proud of • Built a working AI decision engine (Navi) • Created a clean and intuitive user experience • Successfully integrated real-time data sources • Developed a system that focuses on decisions, not just insights
⸻
📚 What we learned • Simplicity is key — users care about actions, not data • AI is most useful when it solves real decision-making problems • Good UI/UX is as important as strong backend logic • Clear communication of the idea matters as much as building it
⸻
🔮 What’s next for SupplyAlert • Integrate with enterprise systems (ERP, logistics platforms) • Add autonomous decision execution • Improve prediction accuracy with larger datasets • Expand to multiple industries beyond supply chain • Build a fully scalable cloud-based platform
