Inspiration

It's 2025, and there are numerous text-based AIs that can provide an intimidatingly large amount of information. So we had the idea of presenting the information in a more intuitive way -- in the format of mind maps. We wanted to target the issue of gathering information surrounding the supply chain in one place, to make the process of getting to know the market and finding appropriate suppliers easier.

What it does

Our website maps out a company's supply chain, visually showing how they connect with their current suppliers—and even revealing how their competitors are connected to theirs. In the future, we hope to offer actionable recommendations to help companies optimize their supply chains.

How we built it

For the backend, we used FlashAPI, while the frontend was built with JSON, HTML, and CSS to create an interactive experience. We integrated the OpenAI API and experimented with Google Gemini API to scrape relevant supplier information from the web.

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge was a software bug that caused nodes to sometimes fail to display when running the project locally.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite the hurdles, we successfully brought our idea to life! While not every feature we imagined could be fully realized, we managed to create a functional and visually engaging platform.

What we learned

We explored Cedar integration and gained hands-on experience with how it works. As first-time hackathon participants, we also learned essential workflow skills, including syncing and merging changes in a repository, and the frameworks behind frontend and backend development.

What's next for SupplyNeural

We plan to add a search function, enabling companies to find specific suppliers and perform supply chain comparisons more efficiently. Beyond that, we hope to integrate a smart supply chain agent with both voice and chat capabilities to provide even more actionable insights.
