Inspiration

Our inspiration is sourced from our passion to improve business operations through automation. Aligning with our goals for our company, Aleth, we seek to aid clothing brands and their suppliers with a platform to provide valuable insight on their products. From lead time forecasting and transparency to ESG compliance, we plan to provide a tool to help brands stay accountable to their business operations.

What it does

Procurement Copilot provides an AI-powered ally, always ready to guide you in transporting your products when they truly matter. Elevate efficiency, drive performance, unlock your business potential. Our product provides buyers to accurately predict which seller would amount to the shortest lead times, as well as providing guidance into how to manage predicted disruptions.

How we built it

We began building it by extracting a front end template out of the internet we used to implement the back end. Firstly, we used OpenSupplyHub api to get a list of suppliers that served as our buyers and sellers for the platform. Then we converted that data into coordinates, and used a MapBox api to get a list of coordinates in the route from point A to point B. After getting a series of 15 coordinates, we got weather data for the route, and pushed the output to the LlamaIndex vector database to get results on wether or not there would be a delay in the transportation.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a multitude of problems, which often time included external problems that we couldn't resolve. Many times we had server errors with AWS and access error with MongoDB. This really prevented us from truly developing, and halted progress until it was resolved. Through various trial and error, we were able to work around these many problems and get a working prototype.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are incredibly proud of being able to incorporate the Llamaindex vector database as part of our functionality. We really had no experience with this type of database, and made the most out of the workshops to learn as much as we could using it. Thankfully, it all worked out and we were able to get true experience.

What we learned

This hackathon helped us understand the importance of role placements. With 4 technical team members, each with their own expertise, it was extremely interesting to look into how we each fit in with the development.

What's next for Supply Chain Procurement Copilot

Supply Chain Procurement Copilot will be added as a functionality in a platform created by Aleth, a startup that is helping cross-industry supply chains in streamlining transparency for effortless procurement.
