A mobile application to look up ingredients of various fitness supplements and products.
Developed for CruzHacks 2020.

Challenges

Originally, the app was developed to be created on Flutter, but we had image issues on the app and so we rewrote the app for on Android Studios the night before.

Improvements

The app had all the components finished however we ran out of time for integration with our Azure Database.

I set up our database using Microsoft Azure. I load an SQL dump file into Microsoft Azure SQL database and connect it to our picture analyzer as well as our front-end for display.

Henry Dang
I mainly did work revolving around learning Google's Cloud Vision API and handling data analysis. My tasks focused on maintaining the back-end API calls, and testing loads to maintain a quick response time of less than five seconds per query.

My greatest contribution to the team was the analyzer, which takes a scan of the back of a product, parses it to retrieve the ingredients, spell check for errors, then sends a query to our SQL database to get back facts about each ingredient, i.e whether its a food or chemical.
