Inspiration
With the advent of WFH, or more broadly, Do-Everything-From-Home, one of the major issues was the time difference. Calculating what time things would be in your timezone vs. the one specified on the sites was a hassle. TO solve that, I wrote Supertime.js.
What it does
You mention your timezone as a data-timezone attribute to your HTML tag. For example, as GMT+2:30
The script would take the timezone and the time mentioned and convert it to the corresponding time in the viewer's timezone.
How we built it
62 lines of vanilla javascript
What's next for Supertime
- It currently supports the 24-hour format, support for 12-hour format would be here soon.
- A Supertime widget that shows both the mentioned time and your corresponding time in parallel.
- Options to configure what parameters should Supertime adhere to.
- A whole bunch of other things that we can do with time.
