Inspiration

Growing old is inevitable, but loneliness does not have to be. Singapore’s ageing population and increasing number of seniors living alone inspired us to create a solution that helps elderly individuals feel both safe and socially connected.

What it does

Super is an elderly care and community platform that:

Connects seniors with social events and activities.
Provides on-demand transport and caretaking services.
Uses Super Pet to encourage daily interaction and cognitive activity.
Monitors changes in activity patterns and alerts authorised caregivers when necessary.
Helps seniors age safely while remaining socially engaged.

How we built it

We combined a community event marketplace, caregiving services, transport support, and an interactive virtual pet into one platform. Super collects consent-based usage and activity data to identify unusual patterns and support timely caregiver intervention.

Challenges we ran into

Our main challenges were designing an experience that is simple and accessible for elderly users, ensuring that safety alerts are reliable without creating unnecessary panic, and balancing useful monitoring with user privacy.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of

We are proud to have developed a holistic solution that addresses both sides of elderly care: keeping seniors safe and helping them feel seen. Super connects seniors, caregivers, students, event hosts, freelancers, and community organisations in one ecosystem.

What we learned

We learned that elderly care involves more than physical safety. Emotional connection, trust, independence, accessibility, and dignity are equally important. We also learned the importance of co-developing solutions with seniors, caregivers, and community organisations.

What’s next for Super

We hope to pilot Super with community partners, improve the platform through user feedback, expand its language and accessibility features, and develop more accurate safety insights while maintaining strong privacy protections.
