Inspiration
Having the ability to instantly know which characters are the best to pick - who wouldn't like that?? My inspiration would be the countless hours of smash that I played with my roommates.
What it does
If you know what character you will be playing against, you can simply click their button in this app, and you can see the best and worst characters for you to pick to counter it.
How I built it
I used mainly Android Studio, and within that most files were done in Java or XML. I used GIMP for some of the images.
Challenges I ran into
My phone would randomly stop sharing data with my computer, leading to the driver being corrupted many, many times!
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
It is quite unpolished, yet I still believe that it is aesthetically pleasing. I am also proud of getting each character down, even if I wasn't able to get the matchup list in for every single one.
What I learned
I got a whole lot better at making android apps! I also learned a few smash ultimate matchup lists.
What's next for Super Smash Bros Ultimate Matchup Optimizer
Next, I will be entering in the remaining matchup lists. I source all of them from reputable players online, but they come in image form with no text, so I have to manually put them in myself. After that, who knows? But I'll keep trying to make it better.
