Inspiration

In one of my past workplaces we created a very manual version of this application but never turned it into something someone could just sign up and use. It's always been on the back of my mind to actually turn into something anyone could use as I think the idea is pretty good.

What it does

Allows users to simply create wedding seating charts and share a link to a search page where guest can see where they are sitting.

How we built it

It's built with bolt.new; but the technology stack is Nuxt, Nuxt UI, Supabase and Netlify. I wanted to use something that I am familiar with so that after the hackathon I could continue to iterate on the project.

Challenges we ran into

Working with supabase and bolt.new is good but I'm not sure the interactions work that well as it was really tricky to get auth to stick.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Really proud that we finished the project, this is my first time actually finishing a hackathon project.

What we learned

Learned alot of stuff about Bolt.new and "vibe" coding, lots of take aways that will help in the future.

What's next for WedChart

Likely will be updating it to Nuxt UI v3 and implementing social auth, fixing any bugs that arise and generally just adding a layer of polish to it.
