Inspiration
I wanted to help people prevent the most preventable cancer in the world - skin cancer - after observing family members go through skin cancer scares.
What it does
SunVisor helps users better manage their daily sun exposure risk.
It does this via automatically tracking sun exposure and by providing an intuitive dashboard that highlights real time exposure risk personalized to ones skin type. It also provides a range of intelligent alerts designed deliver the right message at the right place and time to help users avoid the risk of sun burn and to remember to stay sun safe.
How I built it
Starting simple, and then adding more complex features before polishing the UI and UX.
Challenges I ran into
Ensuring the app was bug free and refining the user experience over many iterations.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Built an automatic indoor-outdoor detection algorithm for Android.
