Inspiration

We did some deep soul searching and recognized our shortcomings and put some thought into the position of those who are depressed and lacking the ability to self motivate

What it does

One of the biggest issues during depression is the seeming inability or unwillingness to face the day. But, sometimes what one needs is a gentle, friendly reminder to break their habit. That's what our app aims to do: Throughout the day, it'll send notes of encouragement, as well as reminders of what makes the user happy based on previous input. Additionally, it detects the length of time the user spends on a given app, and, if that time exceeds a certain limit, will send some encouragement to do a quick, enjoyable task to get the user moving, and feel some sense of encouragement and empowerment. At the end of the day, the app then asks the user how they feel with 5 emojis, and then encourages the user to come up with something that made them happy that day, so that when they have bad days in the future they can keep a positive outlook.

Challenges I ran into

Not knowing anything, crashing emulators, compatability issues, learning java again, learning how to use Android studio, downloading android studio

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

THE BUTTONS WORK The fact we managed to build something with 0 knowledge of app building

What I learned

What it truly means to be tired also death also respec to anyone who can make apps

What's next for Ikigai
