Inspiration

Took too much time to find a place for sunset picture and now my friends are angry

Format

Inspired by the user flow of IRL social media apps like Instagram and location finding apps like Google Maps - wanted to put them together

What it does

  1. Homepage with daily weather conditions and sunset times
  2. A curated list of sunset spots across various areas in Singapore, shared by the community
  3. An interactive map showcasing the pinpointed locations of stunning sunsets in Singapore
  4. Comprehensive posts featuring directions, accompanying images, and all the information needed to visit each location.

How we built it

SunsetSG was made with express, node, MongoDb, Mongoose and vite.

Challenges we ran into

  • Bugs
  • we r newbies at hackathons
  • some technologies we played with were new (eg Vite)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Pulling through this project in such a short time 💪💪
  • Also actually coming up with a MVP (Minimum Viable Product)

What's next for Sunset SG

Allow a search function for specific details in the picture (eg buildings, mountains) and make the experience more user-friendly and engaging
