Sunflowers for Ukraine
The story and the project
Wars always affect me deeply on an emotional level. They are, in my oppinion, the result of ignorance and create chaos from which chaos didn’t need to be created, and leaves devastation long after the media has forgotten.
Sunflowers for Ukraine was born from a feeling of helplesness and a moment of inspiration.
After seeing the “put the sunflower seeds in your pocket” video and realising that the Ukrainian government had posted their crypto address on twitter, I was inspired to create Sunflowers for Ukraine as a token of solidarity.
From there sunflowers for Ukraine was born.
Sunflowers for Ukraine is a completely decentralised non-profit, and for each sunflower minted the funds go directly into the official Ukrainian Ethereum address.
I extended the standard OpenZepplin ERC721 contract to create an NFT collection with unlimited supply and that forwards all funds to the recipient address. The contract has no owner and the recipient cannot be changed. All sunflowers are identical and are purely for hodling in solidarity with Ukraine during this time.
