Sunflowers for Serenity

Inspiration

The Ukrainian war has created a large humanitarian crisis. People who want to help can advocate via letters, donations, or finding charities.

What it does

It has three sections: write a letter, see letters, make a donation, and learn about more charities. It is just a prototype.

How we built it

I built it using AppLabs. AppLabs uses javaScript, HTML, and CSS in a drag and drop code format.

Challenges we ran into

I did not have enough time to explore Android Development Studio, so I tried using AppLabs. I played around with the app design. This is not my first hackathon however, so I wanted to use a formal app, but could not completely do so.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of having a prototype, that I can expand onto an actual development studio when I have more time! I'm also proud of what I made

What we learned

I learned that my app can inspire change with advocacy and that coding for the common good is a powerful tool.

What's next for Sunflowers for Serenity

I want to make my app more unique! Right now, it is just a prototype, but it would be cool if the letter writing function could actually send letters to the UN! IT would also be cool if you could see some letters in real time!
