Inspiration
I wanted to attend CUHackit to see what I could get done and what new programs and languages I could learn or advance in. I had an idea in mind that I really didn't know how to implement, but was able to learn a new
What it does
This program uses openAI API and takes sports data scraped from the web in a attempt to summarize and express patters and interesting statistics.
How we built it
A lot of reading documentation, tutorials, and Q and A websites.
Challenges we ran into
I struggled the most with Django and understanding how the front/back end were supposed to communicate with each other. I also struggled with the steps in between of scrapping data and then formatting it to where it could be fed into the openAI API prompt.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I Went into this event picking technology that I have never had experience with and now I feel I have a decent understanding of it all. I got better at reading documentation and learned new skills
What we learned
What's next for sumsports
while it does all the things I wanted it to do Its still not setup how I imagined so I will continue to work on and and deepen my understanding of the technology involved.
