Inspiration
I often found myself wanted to watch many videos and listen to many podcasts, but without the time to do so. So I built this tool for myself at first to be able to quickly get the gist of any video / audio.
What it does
You can import an audio file or a video file (and it will extract the audio track), or just enter the link of an online file (YouTube links work too!), it will be transcribed and summarized in a beautiful UI.
How we built it
I built it with AIProxy in order to call transcription and summarization service. But in this new version (the first one on iOS, this is the one I'm entering with and the second one on macOS), we also do fast and accurate on-device transcription using the latest APIs from iOS and macOS 26 released in WWDC 25.
Challenges we ran into
Getting a nice integration with local transcription APIs and fallback for online transcription was challenging, but I got it working. Also implementing a nice Liquid Glass UI.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I think it looks nice and is joyful to use.
What we learned
I was able to iterate quickly thanks to AI coding and I hope I'll be able to do more in the future.
What's next for Summiqo
I want to see it used by users, I have tons of ideas but I'd like their feedback first!
