Summarize and translate text

This is a chrome extension that uses ‘OpenAI’ technology to summarize text and translate from a long text written in English to multiple languages.

Inspiration

Students if their native language is not "English" need aid to understand the long text and also a way to translate the summarized text to a local language for clarity.

What it does

This chrome extension summarizes and translates the long text from English to the available options - English, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

How we built it

The extension was built in javascript and node.js. The node.js is hosted in AWS Lambda to retrieve the OpenAI keys and to encrypt and decrypt them. The extension uses OpenAI to summarize and translate the long text.

What's next for Summarize and translate text

This extension can be expanded to multiple languages.
