Inspiration
Most nutrition apps track calories... not many actually help you feel better. We wanted to build something that connects food with wellness, energy, and mood. Replate was born from that idea: a personal wellness app that helps you eat in rhythm with your body, not against it.
What it does
Replate helps users track calories, protein, and meals but it goes further. It learns how different foods affect your mood, focus, and energy.
How we built it
Frontend: ReactJS with Tailwind for a warm, minimal, homely UI.
Backend: Node.js (Express)
Database + Auth: Supabase
AI Layer: Gemini API to generate adaptive meal suggestions and daily insights.
Design: Burgundy and cream branding inspired by warmth, calm, and simplicity.
Challenges we ran into
Getting the AI to suggest accurate meals from the user’s pantry. Designing a UI that feels comforting, not clinical. Making proper recipes display with given ingredients.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a complete wellness app meal planner that actually feels new. Integrated Gemini AI to make real-time adaptive meal suggestions. Designed a brand and interface that looks modern and sleek. Created a winner application in less than a weekend.
What we learned
Real wellness isn’t about restriction it’s about awareness and rhythm. Collaboration between design and logic is key to making something people will want to use daily. Real-time debugging in a group setting.
What's next for Replate
Add wearable integrations (Fitbit, Apple Health) for sleep and recovery-based nutrition. Launch a beta to collect user feedback on mood tracking and adaptive meal planning.
