Inspiration

I've always loved Sudoku and I am currently in the middle of developing an Arcade Roguelite, and when brainstorming for this challenge I had the thought of "it's time Sudoku got a proper action packed remix!"

What it does

Each day, three new "question bombs" themes are generated and you pick from one of the three and start the mission. In the mission, it's a sudoku field 6x6 smaller than normal. But its a bomb with a 5 minute timer. The question bombs are 3 mini bombs on the field and if you tap on a space and theres one there, you have to answer a question of the theme that you selected (in 30 seconds).

How I built it

Used Devvit with VS Code for the text editor Which was made to be super easy by the creators of devvit! Allowing co-pilot to help out when need!

Challenges I ran into

I am a noob (beginner) when it comes to backend logic, and it took me a couple longgg days to figure it all out. But it was a nice learning a new skill to and add to the tool box for future projects!

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

From vision to paper to finish product. An intense amount of pre planning went into the idea before even touching a computer. This is something I'm trying to get better at day to day development work.

What I learned

Mobile optimization, daily seed gen linking with a randomization system, and finally backend development logic!

What's next for Sudoku-Defuse

Honestly, I loved playing it during testing. I would not see why this wouldn't be successful as a standalone app, or web game. So I plan on looking for good ways to monetize the idea and possibly getting rid of the 24 hr concept and having it just be an endless mini sudoku runner + trivia.
