Personal struggles with studying, battling distractions, and the need for accountability. Recognizing the challenge of solo studying, drawing inspiration from the collaborative spirit of the Sudo community. Seeking a solution to connect studying with collaborative efforts.
What it does
'Study With Sudo' is a platform fostering student connections for mutual accountability, motivation, and resource sharing.
How we built it
Assigned features on a Google Doc, aligned on aesthetics, and supported each other through challenges. Utilized Wix.com for website representation. Employed Java, JS, CSS, and HTML for the Motivational Quote Generator. Integrated Google Maps for the Study Buddy Locator. Designed an event flyer using Canva.
Challenges we ran into
Defining the project scope and managing time within the 24-hour window. Coordinating web development collaboration and addressing pacing challenges. Balancing small tasks with larger goals.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Timely completion, forging new connections, and participating in our inaugural hackathon.
What we learned
Recognized the importance of tackling bigger coding challenges as skills develop. Emphasized continuous work on the pitch deck throughout the project, avoiding last-minute rushes.
What's next for Study With Sudo
Virtual Reward System: Implement a system for users to earn virtual rewards, redeemable for study-related perks. Leaderboards: Introduce leaderboards to recognize top contributors or active study groups, fostering friendly competition. Enhance Study Buddy Locator: Progress from skeletal features to a fully functional tool for enriched user experience.
