SUConnect

Inspiration

My experience this past school year showed me how isolating university can be. This is my attempt to mitigate that and help others meet people who might feel the same.

What it does

Bridges the gap between going to events and actually starting that initial conversation that can lead to friends. It eases the process of meeting new people and finding activities to do outside of school and class.

What's next for SUConnect

The implementation process. Firstly, React will need to be learned to a greater degree. Login and SignUp pages will be created using SU's email and Google Auth. Users need to be stored in some database so their information persists between uses. Web scraping (HTML parsing) and querying the web needs to be accomplished. The Syracuse Calendar website has surprisingly complex HTML structures and correctly processing it will take time. Then the different display pages will be created to show the data.
