Inspiration

I've been dealing with a pretty bad sugar and ice cream addiction for over a decade. Sure, there are fitness trackers, sleep monitoring, financial tracking, but what about BAD habit trackers. In order to empower myself, I need to see my progress visually and keep myself accountable. I created this passionately for myself. But, I know others will love it too. It's also pretty smart. It uses AI to generate data-driven insights from the data you input. This serves the healthcare track, Capital One's financial track, MongoDB's track, Matlab's track, and Domain.tech's track. (successkid.tech)

What it does

You use the app like a TRUE friend. When you are craving it, after you gave in, and when you avoided it, you tell Success Kid. There are tools for each pathway to help you and empower you forward. It even measures time wasted or money wasted/gained in avoided or giving in to the habit. Using AI, it uses data mining to predict user's lifespan, chance of disease, or financial health. There is a timeline feature that records your progress and rewards that can be set and redeemed. There is even a social media component - like Linkedin where you can share posts, follow users, and ask for help.

How we built it

The frontend is in React.js. The backend is in Express.js. Postgresql was used for the database. MongoDB Atlas API came in clutch with the charts for the dashboard. And Matlab machine learning was perfect for AI-driven data mining for prediction and data feature correlations.

Challenges we ran into

I wanted to integrate Auto0, cause my Auth flow took wayyyyyyyy too long, built from just Context API in React.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting a lot of features coded out. It's soo versatile. It can help with financial tracking, healthcare tracking or anything else. It's completely made around the USER. - User centered design.

What we learned

I never knew MongoDB was more than a database. I mean the charts service is next-level!!! Even the Auth0 service looked really easy to use. And Matlab's machine learning was a tool that I never knew about, even though Matlab was the first coding language I learned.

What's next for Success Kid (successkid.tech)

I'm going to make it a mobile app and put it on the App Store, cause...I know you wanna use it ; )
