Subzero

Inspiration

Subzero is a global sustainability initiative to save the ocean and aquatics from plastic dumps and it’s effect on inflation. Our project is inspired from the tech for good scheme in contributing to global sustainability.

What it does

Subzero is a decentralized platform built on Verse network with multichain function,to monitor/control plastic disposal and it’s effect on inflation rate using trufflation data feed, and control ocean pollution caused by plastic after use dumping,which was estimated to be over 8 million tons found in the ocean

How we built it

Solidity- smart contract Multichain Anycall - Crosschain functionalities Verse Token - 50% of premium is staked in verse State Farm and 50% is stored in contract Trufflation- used its oracle through Chainlink to query yearly inflation rate index Chainlink - using chainlink keepers to call claim reward functions and AnyApi to get inflationindex from Trufflation.

Challenges we ran into

We had difficulties fetching trufflation oracle data but the team was kind to help us, also deploying our main contract was not so easy but we did it .

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built an insurance protocol on verse blockchain which manages plastic disposal and tracks it’s effect on inflation

What we learned

We learnt a lot about Chainlink oracles and trufflation data feed

What's next for Subzero

We plan to push this project further after the hackathon, and integrate some stacks we weren’t able to complete due to time lapse . Firstly,Improved Analytics to track and provide on chain data on plastic dumping per geo location and it’s effect on inflation rate. This would be a KPI for our dapp as we envision to save the earth from the hazards of waste plastics.
