Inspiration
I wanted to turn a classic party game into a fast, unpredictable digital experience—with the chaos and energy of a subway station dance-off.
What it does
Players run to music and scramble for seats when the beat drops. Miss a chair, and you're out. It's simple, chaotic, and built for laughs.
How we built it
Built in Meta Horizon using animated triggers, sound sync, and avatar interactions. Designed for quick rounds and repeat play.
Challenges we ran into
Timing music perfectly with the game logic was tough. Also had to make sure chairs felt real enough to race for, but spaced to avoid glitches.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It actually feels like a party. People laugh, dance, and get competitive—exactly what I was going for.
What we learned
Simplicity can be addictive. The clearer and faster the game loop, the more people stay and replay.
What's next for Subway Musical Chairs
More music tracks, chair styles, and possibly a "party host" mode so players can DJ the chaos.
