Inspiration

The idea for Subscription Tracker SubTracky was born from the realization that in today’s world, many people have multiple subscriptions to various services. Often, these recurring payments are forgotten until the moment they are charged, leading to unwanted renewals and unexpected expenses. SubTracky was created to help users take control of their finances by providing an easy and efficient way to track and manage all their subscriptions in one place, ensuring they never miss a charge again.

What it does

Subscription Tracker SubTracky is an all-in-one app designed to help users track, manage, and stay on top of their subscriptions and recurring payments. With SubTracky, users can view all their subscriptions in one place, receive timely reminders before charges occur, and monitor their spending through detailed financial insights. The app features a user-friendly interface, customizable notifications, budget tracking, and expense insights, all while ensuring that users' data remains secure on their devices. SubTracky also supports 19 languages, making it accessible to a global audience.

How we built it

As a solo indie developer, I built SubTracky using Swift and SwiftUI, focusing on creating a seamless and responsive user experience for iOS devices. For managing in-app purchases and subscriptions, I integrated RevenueCat, a tool I’ve consistently used in my other projects due to its reliability and ease of use. This integration allowed for the smooth handling of subscription tracking features, ensuring that users can easily manage their financial commitments. I also ensured that the app supports 19 languages, making it accessible to a wide audience around the globe.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges in developing SubTracky was ensuring that the app could send notifications at the right time. Integrating RevenueCat to manage purchases and subscriptions requires careful attention to detail to ensure seamless functionality. Additionally, creating an intuitive user interface that could accommodate the diverse needs of users, including support for 19 different languages, was another challenge we successfully navigated.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have developed a comprehensive solution that addresses a common problem many people face today—managing multiple subscriptions. The successful integration of RevenueCat and the creation of a clean, user-friendly interface are significant accomplishments. We’re also proud of the app’s multilingual support, which broadens its accessibility and usefulness to a global audience. Ensuring that all user data remains securely on their device without collecting any personal information is another key achievement we’re proud of.

What we learned

Throughout the development of SubTracky, we learned a great deal about the complexities of managing subscription data and the importance of providing a secure, user-focused experience. We also gained valuable insights into how to create an app that is both feature-rich and easy to use, balancing functionality with simplicity. The process taught us the importance of user feedback, which was instrumental in refining the app’s features and ensuring it met the needs of our users.

What's next for Subscription Tracker - SubTracky

Looking ahead, we plan to continue enhancing SubTracky by introducing new features such as automatic subscription cancellation, advanced spending analysis, and integration with more financial tools to help users manage their finances even more effectively. We’re also exploring the possibility of expanding the app’s compatibility to other platforms beyond iOS, as well as adding more customization options for notifications and budget tracking. Our goal is to make SubTracky the go-to app for anyone looking to take control of their subscription management and financial planning.
