Inspiration
The idea for the project came from the difficulties and high costs of normal fashion photos. Retailers often spend a lot of money on image shoots, studio rentals, and booking models, only to do it all over again when a new collection comes out. I wanted to make an AI-powered, scalable system that could give people studio-quality photos without the studio.
What it does
Stylic.ai transforms traditional fashion photography by generating lifelike, model-ready product images from simple garment photos or descriptions. Brands can get professional photos for branding, social media, and e-commerce in just a couple of minutes without the need for costly photo shoots, studios, or models.
How we built it
Frontend & Backend: Designed with Flask and Jinja to render HTML and allow for smooth server logic and template integration. Database: Redis for caching and quicker picture processing workflows, MongoDB for long-term clothing and user data storage. Cloud Infrastructure: For cost-effectiveness, scalability, and dedicated resources, choose a Hostinger VPS Cloud.
Challenges we ran into
Maintaining fabric texture consistency and avoiding distortions. Handling a wide range of garment types—from loose casual wear to detailed traditional outfits. Optimizing AI inference for speed without quality loss. Managing prompt consistency across different product categories.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Reduced imagery production time from days to under 5 minutes. Achieved studio-quality realism with AI-generated images Created a scalable, VPS-hosted system that can be used by both retailers and major merchants. Developed a user-friendly process that is easy for non-technical people to use.
What we learned
Advanced prompt engineering techniques for diffusion models. Strategies for AI model fine-tuning to handle domain-specific apparel rendering. Enhancing Flask's performance by using cache layers like Redis. The importance of user experience in the adoption of AI products.
What's next for Stylic.ai – Instant AI-Powered Fashion Imagery
Multi-garment styling (e.g., complete outfits in a single render). Background scene generation for lifestyle and campaign imagery. Integration with AR try-on tools for interactive shopping experiences. Extending model training to include a wider range of ethnic backgrounds, body shapes, and traditional clothing.
