Inspiration Luxury fashion often goes unused in people’s closets, while others seek occasional access to these items for special events, meetings, or content creation. I was inspired by the idea of creating a smarter, more sustainable fashion experience — where ownership is optional, and access is everything. StyleHop was born out of this vision: a circular fashion platform powered by points, not money.
What it does StyleHop is a peer-to-peer fashion rental app that allows users to list, discover, and borrow luxury items using a points-based system. Users can upload items, have them evaluated by AI based on brand, condition, and category, and earn points by renting them out. Those points can then be used to borrow other listed items — no financial transactions required. The app provides a smooth, intuitive interface for managing listings, requests, reviews, and profile activity.
How we built it The UI and UX were fully designed in Figma, where I created a custom design system, complete with reusable components, typography styles, and color tokens. Using the Anima plugin, I generated responsive React + Tailwind CSS code from my Figma designs. I then imported and refined that code in the Bolt platform to bring the app’s flow and interactivity to life, without manually writing the full frontend. I also focused on accessibility, clean navigation, and consistency across the app.
Challenges we ran into 1- Managing page linking between Figma and Bolt while keeping components clean and reusable. 2- Creating a fair and logical point-based system that reflects item value without involving money. 3- Working around platform limitations when connecting Figma prototype interactions to functional code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of 1- Designing and building a full end-to-end app with functional interactions, clean UI, and thoughtful UX; all in under the hackathon time limit. 2- Creating a sustainable, cashless fashion-sharing model that feels both fun and elegant. 3- Using AI estimation as a creative solution for valuing luxury items fairly.
What we learned 1- How to streamline a Figma-to-code workflow using Anima and Bolt together. 2- The importance of planning for scalability when building design systems. 3- How to balance visual design and functionality while working within tight time constraints.
What's next for StyleHop? StyleHop could easily grow into a larger ecosystem, with peer reviews, verified brand tags, wardrobe history, and eventually a web dashboard for power users. I'd also love to improve the AI evaluation logic and integrate geolocation-based logistics for easier item pickup and drop-off.
