We wanted to create an effortless and intuitive way for people to receive personalized fashion advice. Many individuals struggle with styling or simply lack the time to stay on top of the latest trends. By harnessing AI-powered image analysis and a seamless user experience, we set out to help anyone refine their personal look in a matter of seconds—starting with just one photo.

What it does

StyleAI is an app that streamlines the entire styling process:

1. Login with ClearK

   • Upon opening, users can authenticate via ClearK with minimal input (e.g., email or phone number).
     
   • After successful login, users are directed to the app’s main interface.

2. Photo Upload & Capture

   • Users choose to upload an existing photo or take a new one.
     
   • The app checks for necessary permissions and allows switching between front/rear cameras, automatically adjusting settings for optimal image quality.
     
   • The app auto-crops and frames the photo to ensure clarity.

3. AI Style Analysis

   • The uploaded image is assessed for clarity and lighting; if it’s insufficient, users are prompted to retry.
     
   • Once approved, our AI analyzes the user’s physical features and suggests:
     
     • Clothing styles (e.g., casual, business, streetwear, athletic)
       
     • Color palettes tailored to skin and hair tones
       
     • Fashion tips and trending styles

4. Personalized Recommendations

   • Users browse and adjust suggested styles based on their preferences.
     
   • Results can be saved to a personal profile or easily shared on social media, with customizable privacy settings.

5. History & Downloads

   • The app stores past style analyses for quick review.
     
   • Current analysis images can be downloaded for personal reference.

6. Smooth Animations & Optimized Uploads

   • Page transitions use fade-in/out animations, creating a polished user experience.
     
   • File uploads are auto-compressed, minimizing wait times and user frustration.
     
   • Progress indicators ensure transparency during uploads.

How we built it

• Authentication: Utilized ClearK for secure and rapid login.
• Camera Integration: Implemented permission checks and camera switching (front/rear) with auto-adjusted settings for optimal photos.
• AI Analysis: Leveraged computer vision and machine learning algorithms to detect user features and match fashion styles.

Challenges we ran into

Camera Permissions & Device Variations: Handling different device camera APIs and ensuring user permissions are straightforward. AI Accuracy & Performance: Balancing between a fast response time and detailed style recommendations. Image Quality Control: Automatically detecting low-light or blurry images required multiple checks. Smooth UX: Designing transition animations and progress indicators that remain responsive and intuitive.

Expanded Style Database: Incorporate additional fashion data and cultural dress references for broader style recommendations. AR Fitting Room: Integrate augmented reality for real-time virtual try-on experiences. Social Community: Allow users to follow, like, and comment on each other’s style recommendations.
