Inspiration

As a group, we came to the conclusion that studying can be hard. Not only that concentrating for a long period of time is difficult, but it also may not bring the results that are expected. Because of this, we made an app to help those who have trouble studying, like us.

What it does

StudyStudio offers a user-friendly interface app that allows the user to enter how long they wish to study for and we will provide them with the best study-break ratio to not only make studying less intense but more effective. We also included a feature to allow the user completely lock the mobile device from exiting the app to prevent procrastination. We also added a calendar where the user can input their deadlines to help them be organized.

How we built it

Using Kotlin and Android Studio, we built an Android app.

Challenges we ran into

We had trouble figuring out an interface that was easy to access, the icon for the app, and overall writing the code as we were mostly new to Kotlin and Android Studio. We would spend hours at a time on a certain method or aspect of the app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our user interface, the icon, being able to complete this project in time, and our teamwork.

What we learned

Kotlin was a fairly new language to all of us and it was a great experience not only learning the language but also learning Android Studio and how to work together effectively as a group.
