Inspiration

Many students struggle not because they don’t want to study, but because they don’t know what to study today. Large syllabi feel overwhelming, and a lot of time is wasted just planning instead of learning. StudySprint was inspired by this common problem — turning confusion into clarity with a simple, actionable plan.

What it does

StudySprint is an AI-powered study planner that converts any syllabus or topic list into a clear 7-day study plan.

Users paste their syllabus, click one button, and instantly receive:

  • A day-by-day breakdown (Day 1 to Day 7)
  • Focus topics for each day
  • Short, student-friendly explanations

The goal is to help students stop planning and start studying.

How we built it

StudySprint was built entirely during the Avalon Vibe hackathon using Mocha.

We used:

  • Mocha’s AI app builder to create a clean, single-page interface
  • An AI prompt that structures the syllabus into a 7-day plan
  • Mocha Secrets to securely handle the API key
  • Card-based UI to display each day’s study plan clearly

The focus was on simplicity, usability, and fast execution.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge was keeping the scope small while still delivering real value. Another challenge was ensuring the AI output stayed structured, clear, and useful for students rather than producing long, unorganized text.

We solved this by carefully refining the AI prompt and focusing only on the core feature.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Built a complete, usable product within a short hackathon timeline
  • Created a tool that solves a real and relatable student problem
  • Delivered a clean UI with clear outputs instead of an overcomplicated app
  • Successfully integrated AI in a meaningful, practical way

What we learned

  • Clear problem definition matters more than complex features
  • AI is most powerful when used to reduce decision fatigue
  • Simplicity and polish often outperform large but unfinished ideas in hackathons
  • Building fast while staying focused is a critical skill

  • Quizzes and revision reminders
  • Progress tracking
  • Subject-specific customization (coding, exams, school subjects)
