What it does

Inspiration

Students often spend a lot of time reading PDFs and organizing study material. We wanted to build a simple AI-powered study assistant that makes learning faster and more interactive.

What we built

StudySpeak AI allows students to upload study material and use AI to understand it more easily. The application analyzes the uploaded content and provides useful learning assistance.

How we built it

We built StudySpeak AI with a web-based frontend and Node.js/Express backend, integrated with the Gemini API for AI-powered analysis. The application is deployed online using Render, with the source code maintained on GitHub.

Challenges we faced

One of the main challenges was connecting the AI API correctly in the deployed environment and making sure uploaded PDF content could be processed reliably. We solved the deployment configuration and API-key issues and successfully tested the application.

What we learned

We learned how to integrate generative AI into a real web application, handle PDF-based input, configure environment variables securely, and deploy an AI application for public use.
