Inspiration

We are aiming to solve three problems:

1. Training critical thinking in the AI era. IMHO it could be one of the most important skills for the future.

2. Accepting that social media and scrolling is part of our lives, especially for the younger crowd. So rather than fighting it, we embrace it and redirect it to something producutive and potentially fun.

3. I feel like "studying in pills" is a very under explored topic in the mainstream. Studying is always about sitting down and focusing for some time. We are not trying to substitute studying (which is impossible?) but rather to integrate it in a new way.

What it does

It's an app that looks like a social media one, but the whole feed is AI generated, answers and questions. Users scroll and open a question that they like, then they will find three answers. They have to upvote/downvote the answers and at the end submit their judgement. The app will tell them if they were wrong and why.

Basically it's a mix between a classic quiz to strenghten study or practice and a social feed.

If done properly could be seen as almost effortless practice by the current population of people who use smartphones and social media a lot.

How we built it

I worked for a few days on the white paper and the science behind it. Then me and Nathalia sit and reasoned on how to create a nice figma of it. I had some ideas but obviously her experience was game changing. Once we were happy, she started working on the figma.

When all of that was ready (whitepaper + figma), I started a Codex/ChatGPT conversation and built everything. As a software dev I have some confidence in the tech and architecture used so i was quite comfortable in the whole process.

Challenges we ran into

Not many I would say. Any challenge was solved by GPT 5.6 which is very effective. I'm a software engineer and Nathalia is a UX/UI deesigner.

The main challenge was learning how to host it online I would say. And probably the dataset of questions/answers, as LLM soun repetitive after some time so I had to thinnker a bit around it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We finally created and hosted a project that was in our minds for some time! Having a start and deadline helped :D

What we learned

We learned more about a public web app architecture and how to design an app. Also that GPT 5.6 is great and working with codeex is quitee comfy :D

What's next for StudyScroll

I want to improve the dataset to make it feel totally like organic generated content while being built by AI. Also there's a button that makes you generate yoour own questions with AI that could be a very nice feature. Hopefully someone will see the project and contribute :D

Also creating a mobile app would be cool.
