Inspiration
We being students ourselves always suffer from backlogs and then at the exam time all of us are burdened by those backlogs. Our team worked together to find the solution of this problem and some other problems related to it like getting an internship for real world experience, Books, Strategies, Previous year questions, Motivation, Unemployment etc. After discussing these problems we identified that lack of segregation of previous year question was a major cause of backlogs as most of the pyqs are available yearwise. So we decided to solve this problem using our tech skills.
What it does
Our website has a number of sections like on the homepage we have the "Messages for the day section" and we have the "blog" section where we put famous and inspirational quotes and blogs respectively. Our website also has a "university" section where we will be adding resources like books, courses, papers, projects etc from renowned universities worldwide. It also has a PYQ section where we have the chapter-wise and topic wise pyqs of olympiads, (we will also add this for university exams, SATs, ACTs etc). Then at last we have the about us section where we have introduced our team briefly, and also the contact us section where students can provide us with their valuable suggestions and other queries.
How we built it
We used only HTML and CSS to make this website, for the data files we used Google drive and for the contact us form we used Web3Forms. For making our site available online we used netlify's free services. And that is all.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was time, as we started the project just 16 days before the deadline and none of us knew JS and for the icing on the top all of us had our exams very near. So managing our exams and this project was a big big challenge for all of us. Also we were from different parts of the world so communication also posed a challenge. But at the end we tackled them all.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we tackled all the challenges with courage and kept pushing forward. we made a pretty decent website with our limited knowledge of HTML and CSS and that too in just 16 days and we also handled our exam preparation simultaneously.
What we learned
We learnt that no matter how big the challenges are, no matter how less experience you have, no matter how late it is or how early it is, if you try to keep pushing forward you will taste the sweet fruit of success.
What's next for StudyQuest
We will now be working to expand our database and post blogs regularly along with the daily quotes and we will be planning to make a quiz section so that students can practice and compete with each other. Besides we will be improving the visuals of outer site and we will be making it more mobile-friendly. And yes! sky is the limit for us.
