Inspiration

Students often struggle to organize their subjects, maintain consistent study habits, prepare for exams, and recover when they miss planned sessions. I wanted to create one platform that makes studying more organized, interactive, and manageable.

What it does

StudyPilot AI is an AI-powered study management web application that combines study planning, exam preparation, academic support, and progress tracking.

Key features include:

Study Planner: Organizes subjects and study sessions.

AI Study Assistant: Helps users with study-related questions and application interactions.

Alexa+ inspired experience: Demonstrates a conversational assistant experience in a web application.

AI Schedule Rescue: Helps users manage missed or disrupted study sessions.

Exam Preparation: Provides a dedicated area for exam-focused study.

Academic Twin: Offers an additional academic-support experience.

Personalized Study Insights: Summarizes saved study activity and suggests what to study next.

Persistent storage: Uses a backend connected to MongoDB to save study data.

How we built it

I built the frontend using React and Vite, the backend using Node.js and Express, and persistent storage using MongoDB Atlas. The frontend communicates with backend APIs, and the application integrates AI functionality for conversational study assistance.

I also developed a simulated voice-assistant experience using supported browser voice capabilities, making the application more interactive.

Challenges we ran into

Connecting the frontend, backend, database, and AI services was a major challenge. I encountered model-access and quota limitations while exploring Amazon Bedrock, which taught me to investigate service constraints and consider alternative integrations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of building a connected study-management application with persistent data, multiple academic-support features, and a conversational assistant experience. I also developed personalized study insights using saved study activity.

What we learned

This project strengthened my skills in full-stack development, API integration, database persistence, AI application design, and debugging. It also taught me to test individual integrations and find practical alternatives when service limitations arise.

What's next for StudyPilot AI

I plan to improve personalized recommendations, expand exam-preparation features, refine voice interactions, and explore a more complete Alexa+ integration.
