StudyNotesHub – AI-Powered Learning Platform

Inspiration

Engineering students often spend hours searching across multiple websites, Telegram groups, and Google Drive links just to find quality notes, previous year question papers, and study materials. Even after finding the right PDF, understanding lengthy documents and identifying important topics takes a significant amount of time.

We wanted to build a single platform where students can not only access study resources but also interact with them using AI. Instead of switching between different applications, students can upload PDFs or images directly into the chatbot and instantly receive summaries, explanations, important topics, flashcards, and answers to their questions.

What it does

StudyNotesHub is an AI-powered learning platform built specifically for engineering students.

Key features include:

Secure digital notes marketplace

Previous year question papers

University syllabus and study resources

AI-powered chatbot

PDF understanding

Image understanding

AI-generated summaries

Context-aware conversations

Secure cloud storage using Backblaze B2

Admin dashboard for content management

Google Sheets feedback system

Students can upload study material directly inside the chatbot and ask questions such as:

Summarize this PDF

Explain this topic

Generate important questions

Create MCQs

Explain handwritten notes

Translate into simple language

Everything happens inside a single conversation without leaving the platform.

How we built it

The frontend is built using React and Vite, while the backend is developed with Flask and MongoDB.

Backblaze B2 is used as the primary object storage for securely storing purchased PDFs. Files are delivered using secure, time-limited URLs to ensure only authorized users can access premium content.

Cloudinary is used for image management.

The AI chatbot supports document and image understanding, enabling students to interact naturally with their study materials.

Additional services include:

Razorpay for payments

Google Sheets API for collecting feedback

JWT Authentication

Role-based Admin Dashboard

Responsive UI optimized for desktop and mobile

# Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was integrating secure cloud storage while ensuring that premium PDFs remained protected.

We also worked on handling large PDF files efficiently, maintaining chat context, validating uploaded documents, and improving the overall user experience without introducing additional complexity into the interface.

Building an AI assistant that fits naturally into an educational workflow while keeping the application responsive was another important challenge.

What we learned

During this project we learned:

Secure object storage using Backblaze B2

AI-assisted document understanding

Building scalable Flask APIs

Managing large file uploads

Authentication and authorization

Designing production-ready backend architecture

Building responsive React applications

Creating a better learning experience through AI

What's next for StudyNotesHub

Our roadmap includes:

AI-powered personalized study plans

Automatic quiz generation

Smart revision schedules

Voice-based AI tutor

OCR for handwritten notes

Multi-language support

Collaborative study groups

AI exam preparation assistant

Advanced document search using semantic retrieval

Mobile application for Android and iOS

StudyNotesHub aims to become an intelligent learning companion where students don't just download notes—they understand them faster with the help of AI.
